Due to Flash formats, a video can be uploaded on a web site with great efficiency. But when you download a file in this format, you will not be able to play it with the standard tools that come with MS Windows. This issue can be fixed with SWF.max Flash Player. It is compatible with videos in both SWF and FLV formats and even with Flash projectors in EXE format. With the interface's very familiar design, you will get used to this player in no time.

It will not take long to download and install the player. The package is 4 and a half Mb large and the setup wizard will guide you through a few basic steps like setting an output path and choosing from various shortcut types. Compatibility or system requirements will not be an issue. SWF.max Flash Player can run all popular versions of Windows, without needing cutting edge hardware.

At a first glance, the software looks a lot like Windows Media Player. A playlist is displayed on the right edge of the window and it can be enabled or disabled. The main difference is that the main area is a media browser. You can use it to navigate through your computer's folders and it will only display files in SWF, EXE or FLV formats. The files can be played by simply clicking on them in the media browser or using the Open option in the File menu. When launching a Flash file, the media browser will switch automatically to the video or game playback. It is possible to return to the browser at any time with a click on a button in the lower right corner of the window.

While playing a video, you can take a snapshot and set it as a desktop wallpaper with a single click on an option in the Tools menu or by using the designated hot keys. It is also possible to generate thumbnails or a Flash screensaver, also by making use of the options in the Tools menu. In both cases, a small window will appear where you set an output path and make a few settings with the aid of check boxes.

A SWF or FLV file can be converted to an EXE file and vice versa. It is also possible to extract a file's resources, such as JPEG compressed images, event or streaming MP3 sounds and more. The conversion or extraction options can be found in a pop up menu after right clicking a file, either in the playlist or in the media browser.

Pros

SWF.max Flash Player can play Flash videos and games without any problems. It can also convert a FLV or SWF file to EXE, create thumbnails, Flash screensavers and more. The interface's familiar design will make you feel like you are working with Windows stock tools, therefore advanced knowledge is not necessary.

Cons

The only problem is related to the trial version. A watermark will be placed over the video playback, right on the center. Compatibility with Flash files will not be an issue when using SWF.max Flash Player. You can use it to run Flash videos or games and perform a series of advanced tasks without too much effort.
